Extensor Tendon
What are the extensor tendons?
The tendons which straighten the toes run along the top of the foot and are known as the extensor tendons. They are the tibialis anterior, extensor hallucis longus, extensor hallucis brevis, extensor digitorum longus and extensor digitorum brevis. These tendons can become inflamed causing pain and swelling. Inflammation of the tibialis anterior is most common but inflammation of the extensor digitorum muscles is rare.
What are the symptoms of inflammed extensor tendons?
- Pain on the top of the foot (dorsal foot pain).
- Diffuse swelling on the top of the foot.
- Pain along the top of the foot which is worse during running.
- Pain when the tendons are passively stretched.
What causes inflammed extensor tendons?
- Overuse
- Badly fitting shoes or shoes that are laced far too tightly causing pressure on the top of the foot.
- It can also be caused by a change in training methods or running terrain, particularly hill running. Running uphill means the extensor muscles must work harder to lift the foot and downhill they have to work harder eccentrically to slow the foot.
- Running on icy or slippery surfaces can also be a cause.
What can the athlete do about inflammed extensor tendons?
- Rest until there is no more pain.
- Apply ice or cold therapy.
- Alter shoes or get shoes that fit properly!
- Ensure shoe laces are not too tightly tied.
- Pad the shoe in the forefoot to take the pressure off.
- Follow a rehabilitation programme including strengthening of the extensor muscles and stretching the calf muscles at the back of the lower leg.
What can a sports injury specialist or doctor do?
- Prescribe anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen.
- Consider the possibility of a metatarsal stress fracture (often pain on passive stretching indicates tendinitis, but pain when the toes are pulled outwards might indicate a stress fracture).
- If it is a long term problem a steroid injection may be given.
- In very rare cases surgery is performed.

semua event untuk bulan 12 aku gantung dahulu, ini kerana nak kasi pulih sepenuhnya. lebih baik aku berehat dari meneruskan aktiviti long distance, mencegah lebih baik dari menyeksa. hehehe kepada rakan2 cap ayam bermula pada Januari 2010 aku akan kembali membakar jalan raya.. so aku kene rest secukup-cukup rasa... da cukup rest.. bermula latihan SULIT.. harap2 dapat berjaya..!!! Menanti kehadiran JANUARI 2010

ARE YOU RUNNING PROPERLY?
2. Over striding
The nervous, muscular, skeletal and cardiovascular systems of our body are all involved when we run.
They all combine to create the neuromuscular and neuromechanical systems.
We can improve the biomechanical movements for runners by teaching the body and the mind the correct motor patterns.
When you want to change a movement in your body it needs to be stored in your muscle memory so you can repeat without thinking, particularly when you are tired.
When you perform a motion the body sends messages to the brain in a certain sequence.
To create a permanent map in your brain and nervous system you need to repeat this motion many times until it is ingrained in your muscles and your brain.
1. The primary objective of motor learning is to train the Movement rather than the Muscle.
2. Once we have taught the movement then improving the athletic performance of a runner is imperative in the pursuit of excellence and in injury prevention.
3. The neuromuscular system then has to be stimulated to recruit and contract motor units simultaneously and to increase the strength of the contraction.
CORRECTING YOUR TECHNIQUE
All accomplished and elite runners run on the balls of their feet.
The foot should strike the surface with the ball of the foot, in a dorsiflexed position (with toes pointing forward not downwards) otherwise this creates a" breaking" motion.
The heel doesn't touch the ground.
The foot on landing on the surface should be "light" not heavy, it then "grips and scrapes" the surface.
The knee is slightly bent on contact with the surface and the foot lands below the centre of gravity - just below the hips.
Think of your leg working in a circular motion from the hip joint.
This brings the heel of the foot behind the body. The hamstrings and gluteus maximus (backside muscles) play a very big part in this movement
Do you jog or run?
- Mike's definition of jogging is simple: If you are "moving" slower than 6 miles per hour you are jogging, and quite frankly you would be better off walking!
- Walking at 4 mph or faster is biomechanically more efficient and far more beneficial to you than "jogging" slowly!
We call this cycling the leg!
The hips and waist should be steady without a lot of side to side movement.
The back should be straight and relaxed, not bent at the waist.
The shoulders should be relaxed, The arms should be bent at approximately 90 degrees and the motion should be from the shoulder not the forearms.
As the arm moves back it should continue to stay in 90 degree flexion.
The hands should be held with the palm facing inwards not down. If you prefer to hold your hands in a fist, the thumb should rest on the forefinger.
The head should be up with your eyes looking ahead not down.
Try not to think about the movement too much. Instead try to feel the cycling motion, and visualise it in your mind while you're running. You will know when you have got it right, you will be able you feel it.

Lawak & Gelak Ketawa
Pada satu hari Bedah dan bapanya datang ke Kuala Lumpur dan pergi ke shopping mall... Anak beranak nie baru first time datang Kuala Lumpur, sebelum nie asyik dok memerap kat kampung...
Jalan punya jalan, akhirnya Bedah terpandang lif, lalu dia pun tanyalah bapak dia....
" Pak, itu amenda pak?"
Bapak menjawab," Entah lah nak....bapak pun baru kali ini nampak menatang tuh...."
Tak lama lepas tu seorang nyonya tua terbongkok-bongkok, tergigil-tergigil pergi ke dinding dan menekan butang lif tersebut.....lif pun terbuka lalu nyonya masuk ke dalam lif dan lif tertutup.....tidak lama kemudian lif terbuka...TINGGGG!!!!!
Keluarlah seorang amoi yang punyalah cun cam SHANIA TWAIN...
lantas berkatalah bapak si bedah kepada Bedah...
"NAK! KAU PERGI AMBIK EMAK KAMU BAWAK KEMARI,
KITA MASUKKAN DIA DALAM GUA AJAIB NIH....CEPAT

Satu hari... sebuah gedung mengadakan jualan murah.. berpusu-pusu orang ramai ingin memasuki gedung tersebut... sehingga ada yang beratur seawal2nya... walaupun gedung tersebut dibuka pada waktu 8.30pg.
Seorang lelaki dengan selambanya berjalan menuju ke depan... malangnya sebelum sempat sampai... tiba-tiba seorang lelaki didepannya menolaknya kebelakang sambil memarahi...
"woi..tak nampak ke orang !! jerkahnya..
"Sedap..Sedap jer nak potong line orang.. "...
Lelaki tersebut bangun semula..dan cuba menuju kedepan semula.. malangnya dia ditumbuk sehingga terjatuh... setelah beberapa kali mencuba utk kebarisan depan... tapi tak berjaya... akhirnya dengan nada marah.. dia berkata...
"Ahhhhh kalau kali nie aku tak dapat gak kedepan sana... jangan harap aku nak bukakan kedai tu..!!"
Laaaaaaaaaa... Tokey kedai rupanyer... hehehe

Man :Tepong kan ke dalam kek tu.... Che'gu nie tak sekolah ke hape??
DALAM KELAS 2
Seperti biasa, Che'gu Nasyor nie mengajar pelajar di Sekolah Agama. Che'gu Nasyor mengajar budak tahun satu. Pada hari tersebut, beliau mengajar bab "cara berwudhuk" Selepas mengajar, beliau (Che'gu) selalu meminta muridnya bertanyakan soalan jika terdapat kemusykilan.
Che'gu : Ada sesiapa hendak bertanyakan soalan?
Tiba² seorang anak muridnye mengangkat tangan, nama murid tu adalah Man Tapah.
Man : Ada Che'gu. saya ada satu kemusykilan. Boleh tak kita ambil wudhuk dua kali?
Che'gu : Boleh, tapi kenapa sampai dua kali ambil wudhuk?
Man : Saya ambil dua kali sebab kalau saya terkentut, wudhuk lagi satu tu boleh buat spare part!
Che'gu : Allahhuakbarr!!!

FARTLEK FARTLEK NB12km 2009
The use of 'fartlek' came about to provide a less structured approach to that of interval training. Its origins and use were developed in the 1930's. Whereas, in interval training the structure prescribes a given distance run in a given time with a given rest, fartlek's approach is to have you run at a given time, 2 minutes for example over undulating terrain or flat wherever your run may take you. The effort prescribed can be at 10k race pace to whatever speed you wish to make your effort. The rest in-between is normally at an easy pace to allow recovery before the next effort.
The intensity, duration and terrain is determined by the runner. Fartlek can be used on all terrains, even on a track surface.
The session is known to stress both the aerobic and anaerobic energy pathways. Fartlek has grown into a popular method of training used by runners to provide an enjoyable and constructive alternative to simply pounding the streets with no purpose and plan.
Fartlek - speed play, is essentially a training session that comprises some speed [effort] change and at the same time as enjoying the session. It is similar but unlike interval training.
